AB SCIEX is a global leader in the development of best-in-class technologies and mass spectrometry instruments that help answer complex scientific challenges and improve our world. We create scientific instrumentation, software and services for the life science, clinical research and industrial markets.

Thread A – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Attendees can expect to be introduced to the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry during this discussion. A short presentation on the overview of the pharmaceutical industry with its outlook and prospect will also shown before transitioning into the panel discussion. Company representatives from Lonza, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Baxter, Roche and Pfizer will be sitting in the panel to answer highlighted questions proposed from the floor.

Thread B – Medical Technology Innovation

Ever wondered what are the different job areas in the medical technology industry? Come and be informed on the diversity of roles and functions ranging from Manufacturing, Operations, Quality Assurance to Regulatory Affairs. The company representatives from CIBA Vision and Welch Allyn will also share with the audience the current status of the local medical technology industry and how well positioned is the industry for growth in Singapore to move forward.

Thread C – Life Science Manufacturing

Playing an imperative supporting role in the biomedical industry, the Life Sciences Manufacturing industry has a huge presence in the local biomedical drive. Laboratory equipment and products ranging from Mass Spectrometry, Imaging Systems to Protein Assay instruments commonly facilitate research work in the biomedical sciences. This panel discussion shall feature companies from Illumina, ABSciex, Life Technologies, Perkin Elmer and Agilent Technologies. The audience can expect to hear more on the technologies and products from these companies, and talents they are looking for in this industry.

Career Appreciation

Following the panel discussions, attendees can look forward to the Career Appreciation Sessions. Aimed with providing attendees a glimpse of the various careers that they can embark on upon graduation, concurrent sessions of presentations and sharing sessions by junior employees and industry professionals will be conducted. The sessions are designed for students from three different courses of study:
  • Session 1 – Bioengineers & Chemical Engineers
  • Session 2 – Electrical & Mechanical Engineers
  • Session 3 – Science & Pharmacy Majors

Lunch Networking

Definitely a main feature of the conference that is not to be missed! While there is enticing food to be served, do make sure to visit the company booths nearby to interact more with industrial players and gain first-hand insights to the industry. Students can expect to talk to representatives from key pharmaceutical companies such as Abbott, Lonza, Pfizer, Roche, Sanofi Aventis, GlaxoSmithKline and many more. Medical Technology companies such as Phillips and prominent players in the Life Sciences such as Illumina, Life Technologies, ABSciex and Agilent Technologies will be involved too.
